Make-A-Wish® Atlantic Provinces Canada grants magical wishes to children, ages 3 through 17, who are living with life-threatening medical conditions. Granting a wish is a wonderful, powerful, and moving experience. The realization of a wish come true has a profound affect - not only on the child - but on the child's entire family, the volunteers and all of the caring supporters who make the wish a reality. In fact, medical evidence suggests the experience helps to make ill children stronger - stronger to fight ongoing treatments.
Each wish is as personal and unique as the child who wishes it. Whether it fulfills a fantasy, creates an adventure or includes a celebrity or sports hero, there is one common thread in the granting of each individual wish. That is to bring hope and joy to a child with a life-threatening medical condition.
Along with the national office, seven independent regional chapters grant magical wishes to children in need from coast-to-coast. Make-A-Wish Canada is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish® International, the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 280,000 children since 1980.
After an amazing rookie season that was capped by the team's Stanley Cup Championship, forward Brad Marchand is ready to make a difference on and off the ice with his program, Brad's Brigade.
Brad's Brigade gives pediatric cancer patients and their families the opportunity to escape their health problems for one day and feel like a VIP at a Bruins home game. Guests of Brad's Brigade receive Loge level tickets and Garden Gold gifts cards which can be redeemed at the Bruins Proshop, concessions or for future tickets. Brad's guests also receive Brad's Brigade t-shirts and goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia. To cap off a truly memorable night, each Brigade guest will get to personally meet Brad who will sign autographs and take pictures with the guests.
